As I've mentioned in another blog post, I'm quite a fan of anything Star Trek. So I decided to look up a recipe for Bloodwine yesterday afternoon and put it in one of my late grandmother's crystal nuq (goblets). Her smile was as infectious as her hagh (laugh), so I think she would have approved.
Surprisingly, or maybe not, this is quite a spicy drink and definitely not one for the toruk-doh (faint of heart). Me and Stanley queued up Star Trek: First Contact while we drank them. I ended up with two goblets of Bloodwine because Stanley was to puj (weak) to handle the spiciness.
But we had a great time watching the movie. And I enjoyed the Bloodwine, while Stanley drank another Hlq (cocktail).
Let me warn you, whereas the ingredients may not look strong, mixed together they are! As soon as the movie was over I was off to Quong (sleep). I don't know if either of us handled Bloodwine very batlh (honorably). This makes me wonder if we would have been banned from Sto'vo'kor (Klingon Heaven) for all eternity! Here's the recipe...
Klingon Bloodwine recipe
Ingredients
ice cubes
2 dashes of Tabasco Sauce
1 oz gold tequila
1 oz spiced rum
1 dash grenadine
cranberry juice
Method
Fill your glass (a goblet is best) with ice cubes as desired
Add the dashes of Tabasco and grenadine
Add the rum and tequila
Then top off the drink with cranberry juice until full
Qapla'! (good luck)! Enjoy your Klingon Bloodwine!
