Cosmopolitans have always been my go-to drink. Easy to make, tasty to drink, and most everyone at least likes them. But I guarantee, this Cosmopolitan is something special. It will put a smile on everyone's face and make their taste buds sing with the luxurious medley they are about to taste.
Honestly, Chambord isn't cheap. And that's why I wanted to scream yesterday when I made a double batch for me and my son. Well, mostly I wanted to scream because of the damn mess I made in my kitchen making that double batch.
So, I added ice to my shaker, began to happily add the ingredients, and shook that thang. The top part of the shaker got stuck as shakers do sometimes, so I turned it around and, "Baby, what a big surprise!".
I pulled the top of the shaker and off it flew, then the bottom of the shaker slipped out of my hands and landed smack on the counter, dumping all the wonderful goodness inside with it. Talk about alcohol abuse! I think it was my clumsiest moment in cocktail making, hands down.
The mess I made that my son gallantly helped me cleanup was intense. First, the dog started licking it off the floor. He had a big grin, and he was our first taste tester, so I think he liked it. But my son whisked him to the backyard so we could really clean and so he wouldn't get sick, making an even worse mess.
The stuff was everywhere. Underneath things, on things, on the countertops, on the cabinets (that are white), and all over the floor. Towels, Clorox Wipes, and my Swiffer Power Mop were my best friends yesterday.
I'm a firm believer in not giving up, so I gave it another try, and boy was I glad I did! These cocktails are absolutely delicious. I'm not sure I can ever drink the original version again!
Raspberry Vodka Chambord Cosmopolitan recipe
Ingredients
1 oz raspberry vodka
1/2 oz Grand Marnier
1/2 oz Chambord black raspberry liqueur
1 oz cranberry juice
1/4 oz lime juice
lime wedge for garnish
Method
Put ice in Boston shaker.
Put all of the ingredients in the shaker, except for garnish.
Give it a good shake until it's nice and cold!
Strain it using your Hawthorne strainer into a coupe or martini glass.
Garnish with lime wedge.
Tips
You don't have to use Grand Marnier. I had some in my liquor cabinet for another drink recipe, but you can use any orange liqueur.
Enjoy your Monday, everyone. And to de-stress, have one of these tonight. Your tastebuds will thank you! Cheers!
